2000 miles and broken already.

Featured Replies

HI folks,

just thought I would join up after lurking on this forum for the last 4 months.

As the title says, I got my elegance two months ago and am really impressed with it so far. I got my car booked in to get the drivers door handle lock cap refitted last week (it's been broken since the factory made it!) and they phoned me up with some bad news.

Flywheel sounds like it is on its way out according to the dealers..... Can't believe it, I just sold my so called 'unreliable' fiat bravo with not one thing wrong with it and buy myself a car I've wanted for a wee while and it is going to be off the road for 3 weeks (max!).

Not the dealers fault so can't blame them, but come on. 2 months old and in total, 3 things wrong with it already (clutch pedal squeeking - new bearing needed).

If you hear a rumble when you release the clutch in neutral, you may want to keep listening and make sure it doesn't get louder.

We need a 'Don't like this' button....

All cars can go wrong,it's how the dealer fixes them and treats you that should be the focus

Hmmm, traded perfect Bravo for Octavia and had problems....

Hope this isn't an omen.....

Good luck getting it sorted quickly.

Thanks folks, I did notice that someone else came from Fiat land... the jump from 33mpg to 58mpg was appreciated though :-)

Popped into my local dealers and noticed the race blue mk3 vRS similar to one I had seen a couple of weeks earlier.

Asked if this was their new demo, with a big grin.

Told no, it was the mk3 they had just delivered the week before to a customer, it was broken. Something to do with broken lock and the key spinning around in the ignition :(

Still it looked stonking from the outside just not in love with the interior still.

Hope yours is sorted soon.

Happy I ordered Kessy as this above will not affect mine, even the clutch pedal is not, nice to receive (when??? )a DSG :whew:

I'm returning to Skoda ownership (Skownership?) after 5 years in the Fiat camp and I have to say that I would definitely buy another based on my Bravo. Mine was a sensible diesel though, so there won't be a jump in economy, just performance and gadgets.

My bravo was 1.4 t-jet dynamic with the semi box (which wasn't the smoothest) and every extra going. White with the panoramic roof so it looked the business. I was really happy with it. The Skoda is a league above it in terms of interior toys and general ambience though. I am getting it fixed over the space of 3 weeks as that is when the dealers' can get me a hire car. Looks like no heated seats/screen for a wee while :-(

Mine is the Multijet Eco Dynamic. The only extra was the sunroof though. What else was there? Leather and Nav I suppose.

I don't feel the interior has dated much at all, and it still feels better than some new cars I looked at. Will be sad to see it go.

I think this is turning into a fiat thread, sorry everyone else! It had the xenons, roof etc.etc. It was through motorpoint so was a 'grey' (as I found out when selling it!!!). You're right about the dash, but honestly the octavia is a different league and massive inside in comparison. You will love it when you get it.
