Decent and cheap dash cams for

Featured Replies

Good evening!

I know the two words don't usually go hand in hand but I was thinking of asking for one for Christmas as I've always wanted one whether it be for filming dicks on the road or for track day usage!

Does anyone have any first hand experience with a good reliable dash cam that's decent quality for for the money?

I've seen so many on amazon and to be honest I'm completely lost haha

Thanks a lot, Daniel :)

Mobius ActionCam. I've just started using one. Great quality for the money, had some issues getting video files off the memory card but apart from that really good. £45 including sticky windscreen mount.

Will be keeping my eye on this thread

Me too. Been sniffin' meself tbh but didn't like to ask the question as it's probably been asked a squillion tomes already.

Don't care, as I've latched onto this fresh one now with hopefully updated views and reviews.

First one on the Amazon comes in at less than 20 quid, AND gets generally quite excellent (3.5 *) reviews too!  :o

Who actually needs fancy pants stuff for this sort of useage, and at this crazy low price, one for the front and another for the back is more than affordable?

Tempted, most tempted.

BlackVue for road, gopro for track.

Where do you get your blackvues and gopros for £50? I think I'll buy a truck load as they normally go for £300!!

The cheap cameras from China all have decent video quality but they do cause problems downloading to a PC/Mac and are hard to edit, the software disc is, well, umm    lacking.

Seems like this one is really good value for money, keeps popping up everywhere and I really like the idea of it having no screen too so it's even more compact.

Where did you get it from for that price? I've found one on eBay but it's going to take 3 weeks to arrive which I don't mind as it's for xmas.

Cheers :)

Ebay, probably from the same seller as you. Mine only took a week at the most though so you might get lucky. eletoponline365 was my seller.

OP, I've got a Blackvue 300/350 here you can have for £50 with a mount and power lead.

Took it out of one of the fleet vehicles to put a 380 in so they are all the same.

May have another, I'll have a look and PM you rather than clutter up the OP's thread. :)

Thanks for the offer but I think i've going to go for the mobius, cheers though :)

No problem. :)

I'd go for one if them too if they are cluttering your stores :-) Möbius looks good for the price, think I'll be getting one too in the new year.

Just to say it's definitely worth getting one, someone went into the side of me on Monday and having the footage of it all is very reassuring :)

I may have one spare.  Will PM.

Reasons for getting a cam... (clips from our fleet of vehicles in 2013).

Richard, what model of Blackvue was the one I used at Combe?

Realise not cheap, but quality good and GPS too.

It was the current base model, the 380.

300 and 350 seem to have been withdrawn and sales are now mainly 380 and 500.

Why would people be getting the 380 instead of the 400v2? Better value for money?

It's very nearly as good, other than less high definition options, but cheaper.

Plus importers I deal with don't bring the 400v2 in any more as sales dropped when the 500 came out.

The 500 is the same as the 400 but with wifi.

Went and bought the mobius cam with 32gb card and a suction mount in the end. Can't wait to get it all up and running.

Will be excellent as I can use it for biking as well as I usually do quite a bit of that when the weather picks up.

Thanks for all the replies, really appreciate it.

interesting thread this...have been looking at these, it has a g sensor too apparently so stops recording a couple of mins after an accident so as not to record over the incident.
