Right few things I wanna find out right decided that I am going to go for the standard DV which should be on these cars just the plastic one for now as it's cheap and will do the job.the other thing is how easy is it to install do I just disconnect the bov that's on it and fit the std on in its place or do I need to modify some pipe work.next thing is the air filter that's on my car it's a twin filter thing looks quite nice but it's prob jobby and will it be getting heat soak from were it's situated?seen a few cai on eBay for 40 odd quid which I would fancy having but just wonderd is it still ok to use the current filter for a while until I have time to order a better cai reson I was thinking it would be ok is because the weather and it's cold so wouldn't be getting much heat soak or am I wrong and should change ASAP.sorry for sounding silly and asking all tese questions just new to this type of car and want the cars engine I be safe and not doing it damage by keeping the mods on it if that makes sense lolpost-110147-0-58264800-1385405018_thumb.jpg

recirc won't work with a front mount set up like that, also standard airbox and filter always outperform induction kits

ok so what should I do I don't have a lot of money at the min due to Xmas obv so as for the fmic what's best

Why not the standard valve fits just under where that pipe is and plumbs into intake so am sure it can be refitted with a little effort,

You can get the ebay induction kit with long pipe to front bumper it just depends where your pipework for cooler is as to if it will fit or not, if you have standard airbox you could always refit it and run a 3in cold air feed from nearside front bumper grill up side of battery to it

Get some closer up pictures of how that current DV is plumbed in, something doesnt look right there

You don't sound silly asking for advice. You are right about the weather at the minute, unless you are sitting in a lot of traffic your intake temperatures should be reasonable. You could consider a diverter valve placed on the cold side of the intercooler to prevent recirculating heated air. Also remember to not believe everything you hear on here unless it is properly explained.

is that a easy Job to do?

It's not difficult, but it may be just minimal gains for the effort and expense. But if you are looking towards a high state of tune, every little helps.

This is the general layout. The original offtake is blanked and the diverter valve fits to new inlet on throttle body. It can be a lot of piping...

NOT MY PICTURE, just got it off google.
