Octavia III vRS and Audi S3 have the same 340x30mm front brakes

Featured Replies

Just looking in to potential brake upgrades, and was surprised to find that the front brakes are the same as the new 8V S3. Rear brakes are a lot smaller however.

That's a big upgrade from the MkII 312x25mm brakes!

Yup and you have to pay £1000 extra on the Golf to get them as part of the Performance Pack! (although you do get bigger vented rears also)

And the LSD, which is the big part of that pack. But yeah, the O3 VRS is doing quite well on the brakes part... :)

I was actually about to make a post on how impressed I was with the brakes on the vrs. They certainly did the job when some punter decided to walk across my path without looking

Agreed, much nicer than the 312mm setup ive had previously on the VRS and Yeti. I reckon a decent pad and fluid upgrade would work quite nicely on these if you wanted something more but no doubt Shark have bigger plans afoot for theres! :)

So, in theory, would a caliper/disc swap on the back be easy enough - to ones from the GTI/S3?

Just a thought.

Yes, just the same as every Octavia v's top end Golf/S3 that's come previously. :)
