Hybrid Fabia Vrs 55 plate on ebay cheap or not ?

Featured Replies

Right so its not a hybrid 150.

But it has a different turbo on it?

Its not mapped ffor it but he drives it like he stole it?

Mmmmm

If it's spinning up in third it must be mapped for the turbo? Or can you spin in 3rd with a generic remap?

Nothing against the guy atall, but here is the start of our convo. It doesnt look good when trying to sell your car to a stranger!

His txt spk mental age may be 8-12 but for the right price it could be a decent buy for someone. Would never recommend it to anyone without a tame mechanic or someone compeletly lacking in car knowlkedge...

On the bright side, a mechanically competent person might get it at a knock down price if the seller's unique patois encourages others to keep walking. :)

Like the old phrase "if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck", " if he drives like a ****, and texts like a ****, them he probably is a ****"......

I'd still avoid, as despite the fact some younger drivers take pride in, and maintain their cars, if that's they way he punishes his on a test drive, he probably gives it death the rest of the time.

When i was selling my Focus Rs i gave it a spanking down the motorway for the buyer, i didnt offer him a drive as he had no insurance. I had waited till it was warmed up though and drove sensibly after that though!

I am a mechanic, and I walked away from it...

Would you buy a turbo'd car that wasnt warmed up or cooled down properly? I certainly wouldnt. And giving it death whilst on test drive is just not how you do things...

The whole care in general just seemed like 'half a job bob' worked on it. Dont know why, just an eyrie feeling.

Or an eerie feeling even!

When I demonstrate a car, I always let them hear it start from cold, then tick over while they check under the bonnet, and agree with Oakleyhopkins in that it doesn't get driven over 2000rpm until warm; there's no need to thrash it to within an inch of its life to show how it will go, and the gimp that is selling the Fabia obviously has no idea of mechanical sympathy.

Frankly, it doesn't bode well for the mechanical condition of the car, and you can only presume that the future holds the distinct possibility of big bills for a new owner.

Agree with this lol.

it smokes alot (due to map) as it was mapped with a standard turbo on it and not since hybrid it is a pretty 1 how ever wheels just ferbed (mint) front seats could do with tidying up to match the rears

Not without a substantial discount. The entire warm up/cool down idea is a bit 1990s/turbo petrol, not necessarily turbo diesels but I take the point.

Someone who knows turbo cars (or gave a ****) would tend to be a little gentler at least until the heater blew hot.

Cheap car though for the stuff on it. I always let my car warm up and cool down and did on my rs turbo when I had that. Might not make a difference but in my mind it's more than likely going to prolong the life of the turbo. Would be put off abit by the seller but might be worth a gamble if you want a hybrid fabia cheap

Yes but the thing is people are saying cheap for a hybrid fabia but has it even got a hybrid on? The guys photo is of a turbo that will not work on the fabia unless its been converted and still is not a hybrid if it was converted and fitted.

He never mailed me back lol

Keen to sell them
