Light bulbs

Featured Replies

That's because to cut through fog you need a yellower light not white.

Unless you are using your fogs with your sidelights all rhw time then why bother with led fogs?

I'm beginning to wonder that myself. I don't use them with the side lights. I just like the idea of all the lights being as white as possible.

Should make it easier to plug all my stuff in at 5am now it's very dark in the mornings!

Plus as the rest of the Dash is White LED's I thought it only fitting!

My maps are the same but,my main is 3 LED not 4  :)

Had a go at fitting,my number plate lights but, found out they were too big at 36mm,so it looks i'll need to order some 30 or 31mm ones.

I saw a bimmer the other night (old model) on the M4, that had LED's on the Rear number plate... I don't think they were quality units though, as it was like a disco! they were flashing :) and not in time with each other!... Add the Prodigy track I was listening to and the effect was hilarious!! :D

My 2013 Monte was 36mm bulbs.

Well I just couldn't get them to fit :'(

I can't remember if it was a right fit or not. I think I recall bending the connectors outwards but I might have been thinking of something else....not helpful sorry.

You will need to do footwell lighting and puddle lights next ¦p

For the actual boot light it's a w5w as in the courtesy light.

I just used a 30cm strip of standard blue SMD either side of the boot and one where the warning triangle sits. I used speaker wire to connect them and hid the wire behind the trim.

Used white strips for the footwell and puddle lights and a red strip on the outside edge of the door for the warning lights.

Thanks

Useful post, I am also looking to upgrade my headlights :) Was looking at either the Osram Nightbreaker or the Philip X-Treme vision. Has anyone got any reviews on these?

Also what are the blue coloured bulbs in the headlight cluster? I can't seem to get them to do anything no matter what button I press in the car...

They're both fairly similar - a big improvement over standard - just buy the cheapest ones.

The blues bulbs are sidelights, unfortunately they are not wired up on the VRS.

  • 2 weeks later...

They look good, let us know how they look!

They are the same as someone else's in a DRL thread :)

  • 1 month later...

I have just fitted 80w CREE DRL'S they look the business. They have 4 forward facing chips and 4 lots of 3 outward facing chips which reflect off the housing really well to give a good light emission from side on unlike the 10w bulbs I had
