Lowering 10' vRS with Xenons

Featured Replies

Anyone done it how did the Xenons react does it need a dealer VCDS reset??

I would recommend that you have the Xenon levels adjusted as they will in theory throw less distance, be-careful when lowering as it is easy to break the links on the level sensors. Also if the rear one is the same design as the 8P A3 (which I suspect it is) it is possible for the arm to go back on the wrong side, putting the sensor value out of range, which will cause and issue with the automatic height adjustment.

Doesn't need a dealer anyone with access to VCDS or decent VAG diagnostics - should be able to put the Xenon module into adjustment mode.

The xenons are fine. As above you disconnect the sensor beforehand, then connect back up afterwards. TBH if the "rake" you have after lowering is pretty much the same as it was on the OE suspension then the lights will be fine. If you're changing that significantly then yes you'll need to adjust.

As above you shouldn't have any problems and shouldn't need to have them reset.

Mine is fine. The adjuster is on the n/s wishbone. Remember to unclip it it's a ball and socket so easy to do.

My lights still adjust and still do the little ceremony on start up so all is well.

Mine didn't need adjusting after I had it lowered

I had to tweak my Halogens after lowering - but to be honest not entirely sure if they were right from the factory as they have never thrown particularly well on dipped beam.

i had to have my xenons re-adjusted after lowering with eibach 20mm pro springs.

my front dropped 30mm, while the rear dropped 20mm.

that 10mm difference between the front and rear axles was enough to foul (too short) the headlight throw angle :(

Only planning on eibach pro kit springs sounds easy enough.

When you say disconnect do you just unplug the sensor before and plug in after male>female connection??

no need to disconnect the plug just undo the 10mm nut to disconnect the sensor

So disconnect fit springs and connect back up?

Pic is a great help thank you!!

Yes, if you dont disconnect it you can break the sensor as you need to push wishbone down to remove the shocks, then just reconnect it back when finished, there is also a sensor on the ns rear that needs disconnecting when you do the rear springs.
