TT 225 Quattro

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Ok so I know they have a massive stigma about them etc. Etc.

But does anyone have much of an experience with the mk1 TT Quattro? They're surprisingly cheap, looking probably at an 02/03 age.

I'm not one to keep a car standard, remap plus handling upgrades would be on the cards from the offset!

The 1.8t seems a fairly reliable block right? Early models have the pre-BAM engine (not sure on its code) is a bam that much better?

Cheers all :)

Don't get caught up in BAM hysteria

Its a good car just as reliable as any other VAG 1.8t

:)

Iv got the tt quattro sport which aint too diffrent but by god is it boring to drive...but then again i came from aassive power 20 year old jap car so anything refined is gonna feel boring

Have to say though for the price there going for there well wprth it :) just watch for rusty roofs

I know a girl with a 400+bhp fire breathing beast. I have been tempted many of times to trade in for one especially for the weird pearl green they come in.

Nice cars to be fair, had enough of the type r mate ?

I nearly bought a quattro sport before I got my car...

I like them but am not too fussed about the other types,

In particular the funky front seats,  the loadspace with the netting

and the (pointless) rear seat delete.

Good motors matey- find one that's been looked after (seem to be plenty about) Two lads I know run them and have owned for several years. Both over 100k on the clock and both going strong. They aren't sparkling/ sharp driving but they are very comfy and incredibly well screwed together inside. You won't be disappointed in the purchase and there's plenty of scope for modding.

Be very picky and look over them carefully, lots and lots of dogs out there.

check for rust mate, especially the roof gutters. You get a lot of bang for your £££

Thanks all for your help and sorry for such a slow reply! Got a 52 plate 225 Quattro today, 93k miles bodywork in v good condition, wheels refurbed last week, pristine black heated leather, back seats not worth a toss my seat touches the rear seats as I'm a bit lanky.

Paid £2,900 for it, happy!

PICTURES!! :D Sounds nice, lots of car for the money too!

Take the back seats out and fit the roll bar from the QS

Thats the plan mate, or something similar at least, the official Audi bits aren't cheap, can be done nicely DIY :)

Will post up some pics from the ad in a bit :)

Getting my deposit back tomorrow...HPI checked and the cars been clocked! That lad didn't know - he's taken it in px.

Motd 256k on the clock October 2012, 90k October 2013.

I was shocked, the car was so tidy I'd never have thought it's covered that mileage.

256,000 miles?

Christ!

Yeah and the rest! I got lucky!

fml I thought my octavia was doing good at 160,000

They make a good engine and quattro donor. ;)

You'd better get used to that mate...

Jeez worth peanuts then

Il sell you my qs for the right price ;). I need something jap again :D

That's a shame Josh, hope you find another one soon mate.

I had a look at the tt myself and some of the mk1s suffered with the main speedo dials failing, but there is a company that can repair them

Mate of mine has just sold his.. It was caged and running about 300bhp, had 180,000 miles on It and still ran well.. He only sold it because the flywheel blew and he couldn't afford to replace it..

you sure it's been clocked and not just a typo? Our family cars mileage history jumps up 100k one MOT then back down the next due to a typo, we know it's not been clocked as it's a one owner with full history.
