Do you have the standard headunit and are you keeping it?

If so you have a few options to enable you to install an amp:

1. http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/accessories/line-output-converters/phonocar-5-142-line-level-converter-inc-remote

This is the cheap option. You simply unplug a rear speaker, wire the converter into the speaker cable by cutting the end off and then connect your RCA's from this to the amp.

You will also have to find a switched live in the fuse box to work as a remote (remembering the amp will be on if the ignition is on, not weather the headunit is on or not)

2. http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/connection-sli2-2-channel-line-output-convertor

Slightly more pricey but higher quality kit and does away with any problems with the remote as it sorts it for you.

3. http://caraudiosecurity.com/jl-cleansweep-cl441dsp-oem-system-integrator

Much more pricey but gives you lots more control than the other two.

4. http://www.teamspb.co.uk/Mosconi-High-Low-Level-Adapter-PRO-p/moshla-pro.htm

More like the Audison but gives you 4 channels instead of two

5. http://caraudiosecurity.com/bit-one-signal-interface-processor

The Audison Bit One, very pricey but its pretty much the daddy of oem integration

Good post Ryan

No thread hijack intended but I was wondering if the speaker-to-RCA converter would be necessary if the amp supports speaker level inputs (Apline SWE-815) which it states in the manual. I've simply spliced into the speaker level wires from the stock unit and after installation I noticed that some bass notes sounded much louder than others, would this be due to the high level feed not being ideal or something different like standing waves being set up in the boot?

Thanks

some notes being louder is normal, its all down to the box.

Boxes generaly, especialy off the shelf boxes, can be very "peaky". So they are loud at certain frequencies and not others. To get away from this you need a box with a flat response, difficult to do and obviously you'd need to build the box your self

Thanks for that, at least its nothing to do with me being lazy with the wiring!
