Remove headliner or Panoramic roof?

Featured Replies

Yes I have searched...

Has anyone removed the headliner or done any work on a Panoramic sunroof? My genius 4 year old held a pencil against the sun blind while it was opening and it ate it. Now I have to get into the sunblind to get the pencil out. To get all the way in there requires removing the headliner, which requires taking out half of the interior. Hopefully removing the rear glass will be enough, but I'm not counting on it.

Anyone been there?

Cheers,

Theo

Pull the rubber water seal off the estate rear door ( top third will do) headlining is then held by Velcro stickers and should give you enough space to retrieve the pencil.

Interesting approach! I'll give it a shot. Cheers.

I had to pull the covers off the D pillars which wasn't a big deal, but no luck unfortunately. There is not much gap for the pencil to get out of the sunblind cartridge, the metal case wraps all the way around. I think the pencil came out earlier, but it looks like the metal edging strip is tangled up on one side. That means that the interior needs to come out. I guess the safest approach is to order a new sunblind first, even though I won't be able to return it if I can fix this one. Otherwise I could be out of a car for 2-3 weeks while I wait for one to come in.

Guess you'll be stopping your 4 year old's pocket money for the next ten years...

Good luck!
