In need of more supportive seats

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have recently started as a taxi driver and have bought myself a trusty 2004 octavia classic which is perfect for the job apart from one little detail. The seats, well the drivers seat in particular, is not supportive enough for me. In all honesty the seats are probably just fine unless like me you spend 10 hours a day sat in them.

So my question is which seats would be best to swap too?

I don't want to spend a lot as this is a taxi, so nothing too fancy but i just want a good comfortable supportive seat. I know golf/bora/a3 seats all fit and i have seen some golf gti seats on ebay for a reasonable price but don't want to spend if they aren't all that good. My car doesn't have airbags in the seats if that effects anything.

Thanks for your help

From the multiple threads on here, there's going to be a disagreement but - the A3 seats i believe are the more comfy supportive ones than the golf.

Leon Cupra cloth seats awesome and can pick up a set under 100

Post 2001 seats are better

Leon/Toledo best on a budget, by a long way.

All of the VW/Seat/Skoda squabs are a bit weak long term though. Eventually the foam begins to perish and crumble inside the bolsters.

S3 Recaro's strongest all round solid seat, but I suspect a bit overkill for what you want to spend.

are cupra r seats lighter? bit of a hijack but relevant
