Another project, and yes its RED again!

Featured Replies

Picked this up locally for £250 - no tax, but MOT until Feb and from what I can tell a real sound car!  Starts first time, every time, runs well, and looks solid.  Good old tank of a Saab 900 2 litre.

My mission was to sort out the paint, in particular to use this as a canvas to have some practise at sorting out keying scratches.  These are DEEP, so I am getting a pot from Amazon in the same colour, and shall be gradually filling in the scratches until proud of the paint, and once dry, hope to wet sand back and polish so you can (barely....) see them.

This is about 1/3 of the keying

First job was a basic decontamination and machine polish - I was worried paint was lacquered but luckily turned out to be mostly still a solid colour (a la Vauxhall, but better)

And the car as it stands now (with my collection of red in the background.....)

Not down at heart, the mongrel will never go red - If I ever spray it, it will be going a nice glossy black!

Top job on the polishing
