X Reg RS

Featured Replies

Stumbled across this on eBay, original Skoda Press Photo set of the Octavia RS. Has anyone got an X Reg RS?

Good question.

Freakcrab had another one of the press cars - the famous(probably fettled) 0-60 in 6.7 Autocar one - but I'm pretty sure that was a 'Y' IIRC.

Certainly I don't remember any X's, even before Briskoda in our VWvortex days.

Chances are the car was registered before it was released so they could take it on the road.

I saw a RHD 350Z rag top at the company next to ours some 9-12 months before it appeared in the car mags in RHD form.

Freakcrabs is indeed a Y reg. Mine was a very early uk one, infact the dealer demo from the showroom. Mine was a July 2001 Y reg, there cant be to many X reg ones around, that maybe the only one. Some still owns it to.

I though the early ones had 16s? Or was that just the Estate?

Mine was registered in march 2001 as a press test fleet car. I don't think they were available for sale till May.

The early ones did have 16s but that was because of a lack of 17s (which were an option ourside the UK). All UK hatches should have 17s (as mine does now). Estates always have 16s.

There was a 2001 for sale at a dealer near me that was fitted with 16's and the dealer reckoned that's what was fitted when they supplied it new
