How loose should inner door panel be?

Featured Replies

Hi,

So I've got the famous rear door leak on the fabia. I did the front doors about a year ago and all is ok there but the rear inner door panel is really loose.

There's about a 5mm gap if you pull the metal panel, is this normal for rear doors?

Hi fredt you may have to take the door card off and i would nearly be sure that some of your plastic securing clips are broke .Its only a matter of getting a few new ones from the dealers.

Thanks OCD.

Are the plastic clips you mentioned the one for holding the outer door panel on or is it the ones that you can see poking though the metal plate from something the other side?

Many thanks

Sorry, door card is all good.

It's the metal plate that's normally the problem with leaking doors. The bit the electric window motor screws into on the front.

Update

Just re riveted the card and no difference so at least I know everything is as tight as can be. It's the bottom bit towards the rear of the car.
