Diesel...

Featured Replies

During the few times I have filled up at BP I havent spotted ultimax diesel, only unleaded. Am I blind? :thumbdwn:

Also on the vRS does anyone notice that it takes ~

Ultimate Diesel does exist...however, I don't know if it's been rolled out to all BP forecourts...

As to the second observation...you'll probably find that there is actually a

I think it's about time they designed a car to run on waste. They always say that Landfill sites are virtually full and there's a looming oil crisis, why not design a car to run on rubbish? Government couldn't tax it either!

BP diesel has been around for ages - at least 6 months, although i don't rate it.

I've found that odd glitch with the tank on most cars. The top bit drains off quicly and the last third takes ages. Probably why I leave it to the light now.

They havent taxed shaving equipment though (or so I've heard...?) as it is deemed as a necessity...

...like fuel isn't...???

just watch utimate i got mixed up between the diesel (blue) pump and the petrol (blue PUMP) i wasnt embarasssed, had to syphon the tank on the forecourt, least i got my nectar points

Interestingly, I reckon the gauge isn't related directly to how much diesel you have left - it's also related to your consumption. On the last track day, by the time I left, needle was just in the red bit, and the fuel pump warning light came on.

Drove 10 miles down the road and then had quarter of a tank left

Hire a skip' date=' and then you'll have to pay [i']Land Fill Tax[/i] on its capacity, is this taxing rubbish?

Regarding BP Ultimate Diesel, I really can't tell the difference, except in my wallet having paid 99.8p per litre for it just last week! I think bog standard regular Diesel will have to do from now on as I'm, not prepared to pay extortionate prices and then hear that BP has made

Esso diesel seems to be doing a grand job, doesnt smoke as much as the standard BP stuff, and I refuse to pay the 5p or even more premium to get the 'better' fuel.

Shell normal stuff seems fine too :)

Try Shell's diesel extra. More performance and better quality at cheaper rathes than supermarkets and cheaper than BP!

Keep mean to try that but I haven't found it so far

BP stuff is ok, the furby runs smoother on it but no difference in how smokey it is. Also mpg is about the same too

A quick trip to Denmark will get you out of that idea.

The Beatles song "Taxman" describes Denmark very well.

If rubbish could propel a car, it would be taxed, also in UK.

Didn't think they'd released this in the London area yet?

EDIT: Very odd' date=' this guide says the station near my work and the one near my house both stock it, but I'm sure neither do... maybe the website has been updated before the stations have...[/quote']

A lot of the material publisising the changes has gone. Even in my local filling station the pump has had little changes, but there is a sticker with diesel extra near the digits.

Just filled up on BP ultimate but at 99.9p don't think i'll be bothering that much considering at the min i'm dong about 1000 a week

Am i right in saying that if they have diesel extra then thats all they have ie no normal diesel any more, just the extra?

That's what I thought when I filled up there as I couldn't find any normal diesel.... :)

Yep it replaces the ordinary diesel. It does make a difference in my car. On my regular commute I get at least 500 on Shell and I am lucky to get 450 on Tesco and 470 on other supermarket fuel. I hate Tescos Bio-diesel mix....
