DVLA's crazy e mail

Featured Replies

....3 years 9 months AFTER I SORN'ed my AX GT, and they decide to send me confirmation..... today!!!

It's been SORN'ed twice since then too . :wall:

Anyone explain exactly what the blazes THAT is all about please?

I got a letter on a thus saying thanks for letting us know you dont own your car any more for them to send me a tax reminder on the monday. They dont know there arse from there elbow!

i'm pretty certain that there is only one actual person up there in the dvla, it's just a big shed in a field with one man and a big pile of money and unopened mail, they are a bunch of nuckle scraping half wits

Sent the bit from the V5 and a tax disc and refund when I chopped in my old car. Sent it recorded delivery, after a week it was still showing as undelivered, so I rang the DVLA. So I rang them and they said they had no record of receiving anything from me. So the same day I sent copies of all the documents along with a letter. The next day I got a letter and a cheque for the refund.

Like most people working in the public sector staff numbers are likely to have been drastically cut, morale will be low due to a pay freeze since 2009, being asked to do work well above the grade they are employed at, draconian performance management system, absence policy that does nothing to promote wellbeing and an upper management that really has no interest in the job they do, will be in a high salaried post for a short time and move on elsewhere.

It's the poor customer facing staff on the bottom rung that have to take the flak.

I'd send them a £60 fine for failing to acknowledge the SORN.

I have to deal with bits of the Cabinet Office for work. Everytime is like walking into a mixture of the Twilight Zone and Yes Minister.

Actually, I DID...3 years 9 months ago!

I'd dearly love to know just how this old and well outdated SORN has suddenly crept back into the system, and on a Saturday too.
