he just told me that next week he is applying one on a golf, then he will let me know the coding and he also said that it will work on the latest iphones

we know it works with iphone. It works with any phone with hands free profile. What will not work though is rsap mode as rsap isn't present on the iPhone. It never has been.

Quick update, I cleared the error codes this morning but they returned immediately so I guess coding is required.

Also got another code pop up which looks to be battery related so think a newbattery is in order.

Could this be a wiring issue maybe the loom is slightly different or the mic wiring.

I will look into the wiring and the settings you suggested. As it stands my iPhone connects to the system and I can receive and make calls.

The car had bluetooth phone prep factory fitted with bluetooth module 5N0 035 730 C which I removed and plugged the 3C8 035 730 D directly in.

I assume the wiring would be the same as a lot of functionality works its just throwing up errors.

Hopefully then its just one of those settings.

You won't get wi-fi with the iphone

 

the phone kit won't work in premium mode with an iphone (reading out of text messages etc)

 

If you want the wi-fi to work then you will have to use a different phone

Small update. As suggested I connected a different phone a Samsung Galaxy and the wifi options appeared. Now just need to do the other suggestions to fix the VCDS errors.
