3C8 035 730 D wifi

Featured Replies

So I just got one of these Bluetooth units as old one didn't support iPhone.

All installed and working for the phone, however I can't find any options for the wifi, does it need to be enabled on VCDS? I remember reading a thread on here but I canto are it now.

Cheers

Nobody? I have done a VCDS scan and it is telling me the unit is not coded, so I guess this is the issue, anyone know how it should be coded.

Thanks

Can't make head nor tail of this. System is installed and I can connect my phone but there is no wifi option and VCDS is throwing up a few errors

What does the wifi offer?

This is the errors VCDS is throwing up. The only I have changed is the WSC code which was originally 00000 000 00000 as it was mentioned in one of the links above, but it hasn't solved the errors and I dont have a wifi menu. Any help appreciated.

As far as I am aware it makes a hotspot in the car so passengers can use your phone connection to surf, it's not something I really need but I got this module to work with my iphone and it was an extra I would like to get to work just to see if its any good.

Ah right! Thanks for the reply. Do you know if this requires your phone to be in 'tethered' mode?

To be honest I havn't a clue, I was hoping to find all this out when I get mine working correctly. Seems like the module is too new that no one has one fitted. It must just be a coding issue but don't know what coding is required.

Is it in rsap mode? Reading on the carsystems.pl website it suggests its part of the enhanced rsap functionality.

I have two modes, hands free and premium, I have connected via premium which puts all my address book, call logs etc on my Columbus unit. I am using an iPhone 5s as well and I think that can only connect via rsap.

I suspect not unless you have modified the phone or something has changed regarding connectivity on the latest iphones. That looks to be your issue as if I am right, iphones connect in hands free mode only (which is NOT rsap).

You can share the wifi from the phone but not through the car unless aftermarket part to do so.

That's odd as it's definitely connected in premium mode and all my contacts etc are the Columbus and I can dial out from the Columbus without touching the iphone, I believe in hands free mode you have to use iphone for dialing.

Either way it still doesn't explain the fault codes VCDS is giving me.

The Bluetooth module 3C8 035 730 D that I have has wifi built in.

Look at this link of photos of a superb with it installed

Have you tried it with a Samsung phone as per those pictures? Could be an iPhone issue...

And handsfree does allow dialling from the headunit.

Have you tried clearing the vcds errors? They look like they might be logged at the point of changing the module.

I thought I did but I will do it again tomorrow just to be sure.

You mention handsfree does allow dialing from the head unit, does it also have the address book and call logs as well when in hands free mode. If that's the case I will have to get hold of a different model phone to try out.

And Keith's point is a good one as a Samsung S3 LTE (gt-i9305) will work in rsap mode...

To answer your other question, mine does yes (although it is a different hands free only module).

I do that on my Bolero. I can Dial on screen or using the dial wheel through maxidot.

Iphone will not connect in premium mode, simply because Nokia own the rights to rsap and apple are too far up their own backside to ask Nokia for it. Easiest way to tell is the phone will have no signal or any data connection.

Handsfree profile is essentially the same but it will use the phones antenna rather than the cars.

My car is rsap only and would like to upgrade so I still get data etc.

quick reply

he just told me that next week he is applying one on a golf, then he will let me know the coding and he also said that it will work on the latest iphones

That's great. Please let me know how he gets on with the coding.
