Columbus

Featured Replies

I don't know whether I expect too much of this whizzy new satnav but I'm finding it FAR more difficult to use than my old TomTom. With the TT, you simply entered the address of your destination, saved it as a Favourite and renamed it.

With Columbus, there appears to be no such system. You have "last destinations" which admittedly you can rename. Somewhere in Columbus, there is a favourites file but I'm blessed if I can find it and whenever I have by accident it's simply told me I haven't got any...

I'm afraid I find the manual worse than useless because it keeps maddeningly referring me to previous pages. Could some kind soul tell me please:

1. How do you find Favourites?

2. how do you enter them?

3. Once you have set them up, how do you then navigate to them?

I am nearly at my wits end and feeling very stupid. I can't help thinking that if I could operate my TT perfectly well, I should be able to work the VW system. But I don't seem able to.

And if you navigate to a postcode you can't choose a house number - it just takes you to the street! Kind of useless on those industrial parks that seem to be a maze and have one postcode!

First you need to enter a new destination and store it which I think you know how. It will always be stored in so called 'Destination memory'.

Once your destination is stored you need to navigate to 'Last destinations' list - two ways to do that:

    (1.) Press 'New dest.' (on the main navigation screen) -> press 'Last destinations'

or (2.) Press 'My dests.' (on the main navigation screen) -> press 'Dests. and contacts'

Once there it's pretty straight forward:

-> Select 'Dest. memory' from the popup menu

-> Press '>' next to stored destination

-> Press 'Edit'

Now you can rename, delete or tag your stored destination as favourite.

Some quick photos below (using the first option).
