new(ish) Greenline III Estate

Featured Replies

Picked up my new Skoda Greenline III estate on Saturday.

We were planning on getting the SE version and taking the interest free option but the salesman produced an Elegance that was registered two months ago with 25% off which seemed like a good deal. I had done the sums and it was cheaper to get this car than to keep my ten year old Mondeo so it really made sense to get this. I found this forum helpful in making the decision.

First impressions are very favourable. The engine is smoother and quieter than the one I took for a test drive and

it is loaded up with every gadget available.

First trip was to get some winter tyres on and the second trip was to fill it up with musical equipment to go and play somewhere. It drives OK even when heavily loaded but I wouldn't want to do much overtaking.

I guess it is not a performance car but there again, I am not a performance driver - old man driving is OK for me.

Unfortunately the weather was foul and by the end of Saturday the car was definitely not white anymore. Sunday's rain cleaned it a bit but I will have to get it sorted out with proper mats etc. I used cardboard under the music gear but will need to find a better way of protecting the car as it will be used pretty frequently to carry equipment.

Only issue seen so far is that one of the wipers seems a bit squint, although it could be meant to be like that - not worth taking the car back for yet.

All the best,

Bryan
