Ho Ho Ho........ No No No

Just what i need, My ABS, traction control and tyre inflation light have come on. I believe this is the teves fault? I've hooked up my shark code reader but it doesnt show any codes? any ideas?

Is it easy to remove the ABS unit?

Cheers

Not necessarily the Teves fault, could just be a knackered sensor or hub.

Really needs scanning with VCDS to find out.

Check your tyre presdures. I had the same fault yesterday pm. I switched off the ignition and turned it on again. This resulted in just the ABS light remaining on. Leaving work a few hours later it cleared on start up. I checked the tyre pressures this am. The front tyre was down to 1.6 bar. Touch wood the warning lights are still off. Skoda repaired the Teves G201 abs fault only 2 months ago for free. The traction light lit up on that occasion. Let us know what happens.

I'd be VERY surprised if it just was a TPMS warning.

I currently have the trio of warning lights intermittently. VCDS says it's my NSF ABS sensor which throws a fritz when it rains. I'll get round to it eventually.

Yeah mine is intermitant too, it comes on for a couple mins then goes off and then sometimes it stays on for about 5-10 mins then goes off. Hopefully its just an ABS sensor fault. I'll see if i can get it scanned at my local garage, they seem to have alot of diagnostic stuff there.

Cheers

Mine is on now too AGAIN.

That'll be the 3rd this year. The Padgid sensor has gone this time in less then 6 months. Getting it replaced with VAG tomorrow.

Good news is it's probably the sensor not the Teves. Even if it is the Teves it's not THAT big a deal now. The age od your car you can probably expect the Teves to pop sooner or later.

Bad news. Your car is the same age as mine so probably the same issues I've had. The ABS sensor is actually in two parts. The plastic 'sensor' itself and a magnetic ring set into the hub.

The magnetic ring rusts over the years and eventually a bit falls out and you get the error. Or the ring expands when it rusts and damages the sensor. VAG in their infinite wisdom have fixed the ring in place within the hub so you have to replace the whole hub not just the ring.

I've had both rears done this year and both sensors. As I said the Pagid sensor is playing up already so I'd stick to the OEM parts. The Pagid was only a little cheaper anyway.

Exactly what happened to my OSR. My NSR is also on the way out but hasn't thrown a code yet, so I will wait until it does.
