  • I would but for the total cost of the summer one was just too high    2 new tyres to replace the terrible dunlops on the front that fell apart New front pads (due to nanny state traction control)

  • Mk2 line up. I did not hold onto pole for long

Sharkrider will be taking his.  Currently only other mk2 on the list.

lol, thread aimed at encouraging more MK2's to come, not so much canvassing who has already signed up.  Your lovely list provides that info :)

I would but for the total cost of the summer one was just too high

2 new tyres to replace the terrible dunlops on the front that fell apart

New front pads (due to nanny state traction control)

new brake fluid (see above)

new underpants after my "off"

New sister in law after my brother bagged a 'local' the night before and got caught by the wife !

Might still throw my name in later on when it starts getting serious and paypal induces a load of bottling it !

Buddy, sounds rough, luckily

I intend to pop some track only rubber on my spare alloys for Combe

Have budgeted for some new pads, be that on new 312mm's or the existing brakes

Last service ahd some ATE super blue brake fluid put in as a preemptive strike

Will order some adult pampers as I will no doubt go unintentional green/brown laning at somepoint :whew:

.........worryingly my little brother (Married) is coming as a 2nd Driver, was not aware that Combe was a marriage wrecker.

Lastly .............DO IT!

The tyres will be fine, the terrible dunlops disintegrated on my last but one lap and I understeered off!

They spat blocks off that bad on the M5 on the way home I considered calling Skoda assist for a tow (as both were as bad as each other)

As for the marriage wrecker I cant blame the circuit I blame his penis !

Incidentally; As his new young lady friend began her walk of shame from the hotel the following morning, we all clapped and cheered her for her efforts

I havent seen her since although Im having christmas dinner with her at my moms on the 25th ..........Awkward :giggle:  :whew:

Keeping an eye out for some of these (but not unless I can get some discount or part worns)

as I don't think it's worth killing my Vredestein's on track

As for my little Bro's potential infidelity - I'll insist that the whole time of the event he is only allowed to wear car manufacturer branded clothing inc obligatory skoda baseball cap, that should ensure he gets no "action" :D

the dunlops are awful, after how fast I got rid of mine straight away !

I have yellowstuff pads on now, most extream they do for "road legal" and I'm going for 4 of these ....

I think the more dedicated tyres will probably be as good as any upgrade out there, especially on track.

How are those Yellowstuff pads bedding in?  Have you been ok with them in the cold weather?

they have been exactly the same as the standard pads on the road... no detectable difference... only time on the track will tell ;)

I might come, keep you VRS boys honest. I'll be needing new fronts about then, so perhaps send them out with a last hurrah ( not a bang, a bang would be bad)!

get yourself signed up buddy, would be great to have a healthy Mk II contingent.  The Monte's definitely need to come along and represent themselves.

Most people who do the track days say that you will fair much better on 3/4 worn tyres than on new ones so you are all set!

Where are the details?

Also might persuade Dad in his TSI estate DSG...

go to track day action in meets :)

Thanks.

Now, that's the right attitude

Far better on worn tyres than new, on the latter the tread blocks tend to move around under hard cornering leading to more wear and possible damage.

Road tyres obviously, track tyres start with less tread... ;)

Mines going to combe not a vrs though :(

Seems to go well though. :)

Hopefully be ready and faster by combe :)

I may make an appearance in the Monte, will be my first track day and have always wanted to do one. So will be fun :)
