Another problem!

Featured Replies

Found out tonight the rear washer doesn't work. Can hear the motor working but no water coming out.

EDIT: SP

I take it you have water in the bottle?

If so may be a broken pipe, check for leaks around the boot when it's operating.

Yer topped up with screenwash. Just annoying as got the car Saturday and so far rear quarter light windows are noisy. Boot doesn't unlock with rest of the car. And now this

Check for water in spare wheel well or wet boot carpet, its common. pipe runs from tailgate up nearside behind trim

Oki thanks. Will look tomorrow if its not raining lol

Mine stopped working a couple times in the past, but it was caused by a blocked jet. Skoda replaced the jet a couple of times under warranty until I read on here how easy it is to remove the part, rinse under the tap and blow out any debris. The dealer claimed there's no corrosion, just residue from the lines. They also suggested it was because I wasn't using Skoda screen wash (in reality it happens no matter which fluid I've used, inc. Skoda's own). At the moment I find a quick squirt every now and then reduces blockage frequency.

Or, you could have the loose pipe thingy.....

I will poke a needle down the jet and see. The boot is dry no signs of water nor in the engine bay

Mine stopped working recently and when I removed the outer cover at the base of the wiper arm I found that the actual nozzle had just popped off it's seat and was loose, hence the water was just dribbling down the outside of the boot. Also have a noisy rear quarter window which will be sorted in order of preference of a) strip door card off, shunt the frame across a bit and tighten the bolt up, then B) silicone it. On inspection it looks like a silicone job has already been tried by a previous owner

Split pipe on mine is behind the dash above drivers peddles.  Use the rear wash enough and your feet start to get wet

Had a look at it with a needle and it trickled out then stopped again. So it must be blocked. Do the jets just pull off?

Sorted. Thanks for all your help. Jets were blocked
