Featured Replies

If I buy a car thats Taxed and Tested, does it needs to be Taxed even though it will not turn a wheel but sit on my drive.

Going by the title im guessing you meen insured and not taxed?

If so then no it doesnt, but it does meen if its stolen or damaged while sitting there then it wont be covered, a few of my mates do this with the summer/winter cars

sorry  mean't Insured. If It's not taxed it must be SWORN Yes?

Needs to be sorn yes.

If it is not insured it must be Sorn'd.  if it isn't taxed it must also be SORN'd.

If a car is taxed, but not insured, the registered keeper (as recorded on the V5) will get an automatic fine.

AFAIK that's true for GB but they didn't bring the same requirement in for NI (yet). Here you also have to be SORNed otherwise you're liable for tax, but can do without insurance if it's not being used on the road (IAMAL etc).

Doh, Not a lawyer, that acronym should read!
