Well the new FL is home

Featured Replies

It looks lovely. Congratulations. I so wish I could afford a facelift model. I'm afraid I'll be stuck with my 59 plate for a while. I've got a lot of saving up to do.

Get in an order before the end of December and take advantage of the 0% finance offer - so no saving, just cheap payments and no waiting....job done!

I cancelled order from Progress (Bedford). Mine was an Elegance 1.2 DSG in Jungle Green with Matterhorns and Onyx Alcantara seats, so that is the spec I would want again. Be interesting to know (just for curuiousity mind), if the dealer kept the order to resell.

Order has been kept but we took a few things off the spec, Still time to change your mind ;)

No 4x4 badge on the back ? Looks lovely though! What size engine is it?

Already got a back seat driver  :giggle:

Only driven it home 10miles,

First impressions its quieter in the cabin, engine and road noise, the ride feels a bit better (not that I had a problem with the old one)

It feels more responsive than my old one, could be due to the Hadex 5,  will hold 6th at a lot lower speed even with the engine being new and tight,  the lights are far better even with the standard halogen bulbs, have night breakers unlimited to put in tomorrow, only thing I miss is the little green light in the rev counter that tells you the lights are on.

Very happy so far will report more when I have driven it more :giggle:

Good to hear the lights are better with halogens, I think the halogen headlights of the original were the weakest part of the Yeti, even with brighter bulbs it is not much fun driving in bad conditions down country roads at night.

What did you delete Dale?

Assume still on for week 9 (confirmed?) build.

The 4x4 badge is on the bottom right hand corner of the tailgate,  which by the way now opens up further, the boss can only just reach it   .

I could always bring mine up to you for demo runs,  for a small fee  :giggle:.

Upgrade to a 140 elegance maybe  :giggle:   the 170

I noticed the tailgate difference when I went to open yours Kevin. The actual lift button also seemed to be higher than my current one.

I was pleased to see that the "eyebrows" over the DRLs and the "creases" in the tailgate are less pronounced in the flesh than appeared in pictures. All in all I was pleased with the appearance, only possible downside is the wide gaps in radiator grille.

Are we all sitting down  :bandit: .     While waiting for the boss to return from a hospital appointment I had a look trough the manual :whew: ,  all bulbs are now easy to replace, can be done without dismantling the front bumper,  headlight both, daytime light, side light, indicator, all can be done from under the bonnet,  front fogs, using wheel removal tool remove plastic part from above the fog, then unplug wire remove plastic nuts from fog then remove the unit to replace the bulb,  SIMPLE .

The only thing I can't find is the bulb list  :wonder:,  sorry Graham to wet to day will look tomorrow hopefully.

The DRL,s are now small lights under the headlight along with the indicator, the lower fog lights don't have the DRL lights in them anymore.

Change the dip beam bulbs to the nightbreaker unlimited today, they are supposed to be easy, OK if you have the hands of a 4 year old, after you have struggled to turn the cap off its just a case of pushing the connector plug still attached to the bulb down and it comes out from the top clip,  swap the bulb and put it back in  :giggle:,  its fun trying to get the tab lined up again to push it back in, two lamps took 30mins  :giggle: but all done now.

The main beam look like H7 as well but did not take them out because the cover is in a bit tighter space and when removed the bulbs are even harder to get to, but they have the same plug and base as the dipped beam,  god knows how you get to the DRLs and indicator,  had a look at the fogs they are simple, use the trim removing tool supplied in the boot to pull the trim above the fog out, remove two securing nuts and the fog comes out.

Hi Kevin,

looks very nice and glad you have noticed some improvements. know there was a change in gearbox for the 110 4x4 shortly after our classics were built and maybe again for the FL :wonder:

Oh re the handbook, Skoda have been telling you how to remove bulbs but not which to use for around 2 years now; balmy  :(

TP

I sent an email to Skoda UK having a bit of a whinge about the fact that they'd removed the list of bulb types from the manual.

I got a call from some young lad offering to send me a list for my car. Just put them in the flippin manual!

They still list the fuses. Grrr.

The DRL,s are now small lights under the headlight along with the indicator, the lower fog lights don't have the DRL lights in them anymore.

I stand corrected.

The "eyebrows", as I call them, are over the DRL area and looked pronounced in the pictures but not as bad in the metal.

Just received an e-mail this morning from SUK, promoting the arrival of the 'new' Yeti and Rapid Spaceback in showrooms from the end of January 2014!!!  :giggle:

Think they are a little behind the times

Oh they are still highlighting the current finance offers.
