Swapping head units between Octy II's

Featured Replies

Thought i would start a new thread on this one as its a direct question and may get answered. its discussed in another thread

i and a collegue have the same cars (octy II Elegance) he has an upgraded "stream" radio with aux in We got the cars 3 weeks apart. i need the aux in to run a Iriver MP3 player.

he has agreed to do this and i need to know how we can go about it.

1. how to remove the HU.

2. Where to get the code from is this the 4 digit number on the stuff you get with the second key (rubbed out bar code)

3. how easy is it to add the aux in to the HU.

or should we go to the dealer

anyone ?

They code for the stereo is not the one on the key. If you have a code it will be on the inside of the radio book on a sticker, if not your dealer will need a code off your stereo and email Skoda to get it.

The stereo is removed by prising out four corner trims and removing the four torx screws.

(is the Stream upgraded? I thought that was the std stereo.)

Hi Thanks for that, prising the trim off seems to be an art as i cannot get it off the top surround of the HU.

the Stream seems to have been updated as his car has an Aux in which is switchable from the third "audio" menu. thats the reason i want it.
