Featured Replies

Hi all,

thought id start a project thread for my Fabia vrs,

first things first, my car is a black 55 plate Fabia vrs with 66k on the clock, completely bog standard,

i pick the car up on the 30th, first plan is to refurbish the alloys and plastidip them dark grey along with the chrome grill surround,

then my plans for it are as follows,

jabbasport or whiteline rarb

coilovers, not sure which brand considering apex ones

big brake conversion of some form,

some new front seats and backs reupholstered

then will come some power upgrades not sure what yet though,

well thats it for now,

any thoughts and advice are much appreciated on whats right and wrong for these cars,

Hi Callum welcome to the forum. I remember the excitement of picking up my Fabia :)

Ap coilovers get good reviews if they're in your budget. They're made by kw so are good quality.

Your plans sound good too. Being a member of brisky can get very expensive!

Any idea what sort of power you will be after?

hi dark_hero!

haven't really looked into them fully yet, but i think they are in the price range, will defiantly check them out,

on the power side of things i havent really considered power figures yet around 230-240ish, not to sure on whats possible out of these engines, so will see what funds permit, just from a quick look i am considering,

airtec fmic

darkside developments turbo kit

darkside oil cooler

bigger injectors

full decat straight though exhaust

custom remap of some form had considered big fish tuning as they are just down the road from me but haven't heard to many good reviews from them:/

plan is keep it looking fairly stock but kinda murdered out, who suspects a Fabia to be a bit of a beast!

as i said fairly new to the car scene so not to sure on what works and doesnt!

The Mk1 Fabia is an all time underrated car.

Welcome aboard.

If your aiming for 230-240 you will need a replacement clutch and single mass flywheel. Helix get good reviews and you'll probably want a diff too :)

Tuning a derv gets expensive! I've got a pd150 hybrid turbo in mine, just had a helix clutch a few weeks ago at £1050 fitted!

i have been looking at the cg Motorsports clutch kit for the single mass flywheel conversion, not sure what there like though heard mixed reviews! and as im unsure on what torque figures it will make i don't know what ill need,

dependent on price id be in for the group buy!

There are 2 threads in here, take a read of them and make your decision :)

well i picked the car up today, and well i had read it was a fun car to  drive but had been a bit skeptical with it being a skoda, (badge whore i know) but my god ive had a smile on my face every time ive got in it!

then i got it home and started playing with it, put some new headlight bulbs in and tinted the headlights with smoked film and yellow tint on the fog lights, sounds chavvy but i like the look of it, hopefully tomorrow the vinyl wrap will turn up so i can black out the chrome grill surround,

that's all for now,

will get some photos tomorrow hopefully!

hi all,

not really got much done on the car as of late due of lack of funds,

here is how it stands at the minute,

so hopefully over the next few months ill be getting coilovers, fmic, exhaust and remap.

so, if anyone could point me in the direction of a decent inter cooler? was hoping to get a universal inter cooler and piping to keep costs down, have been looking at mishimoto coolers but they have 3" inlets and outlets which i believe may cause to much pressure drop?

also im wanting new style badges if anyone knows where i can get them from?

many thanks

thanks for looking, any comments are much appreciated!

Good looking thread so far.

You'll find the list of bits never goes down, regardless of how much you spend. :D

so,

not much has happened with the car lately as i have had neither time or money to do anything with it,

car recently hit 71k on the clock, due to driving back and forth from home to Scotland every week, so will be getting the cam belt and water pump done shortly,

the next mods i do will be as follows;

remap (this is getting done in the next few weeks)

ap coilovers and RARB

new wheels of which i haven't decided

i will then take it from there and see where it ends up.

as always thanks for reading!

heres a few photos of the car on the way back malton big breakfast meet

So the worst happened yesterday when some stupid woman decided she didn't want to go round the corner she started going round and drove in to me as I went to pull put the junction:( damage to the car isn't to bad (damage to bumper and wing, loud hissing noise to I think could be intercooler or boost pipes knackered and punctured tyre)

On the positive side the bumper needed re spraying anyway just have to pay my stupid excess for it!

Car was collected today by the garage and the guy said it shouldn't get written off as long as there's no suspension damage, so fingers crossed,

If it does get written off it'll be the end of my Skoda ownership for now:(

Hope it doesnt get written off mate! As what you have planned for it looks like its going to make a really good car!

spoke to the garage today, they have sent the estimate of to the insurance company but have also ordered all the parts and paint (lady said due to it being black magic it had to be bought from skoda as they couldn't mix it up apparently:')'), she didn't say for definite its been fixed, but im assuming since they have the parts on order it will be getting fixed, she also said hopefully ill have it back by next friday!
