Can anyone enlighten me if these covers circulating the internet and ebay are legit and if they can be retrofitted without risking safety?

Yup - I was able to remove the old one and fit the new one - I posted a photo on my journal.

Dash looks good 32K.How did you get the piano black on the vent surrounds etc? Is it just a case of unclip, prime and spray? Mine is still in warranty - would that be affected by painting? How difficult to remove the trim?

Hello pirving and cheers. Yes they are painted. Removing side vents and dash pod is easy. The middle vent is a pain. Warranty issues? I wouldn't know to be honest.
