Is it possible to cancel an order once placed?

Featured Replies

I'm hoping to order a new Citigo on Tueday for delivery in March/April. As you can imagine, I'm trying to benefit from the interest free credit, free servicing etc and also avoid a possible price rise. However there's a small chance I may not need the car in the end. If that's the case, do you know whether it's possible for me to cancel the order? If so, will I lose any money (how much?) and is there a deadline for cancelling?

If I was in doubt I'd not be ordering at all. I would absolutely 100% want and need that car before ordering.

Ps best answer for this question would be from the dealer. :)

When you place the order you will have to pay a deposit, somewhere in the region of £500-00.Cancel the order and bang goes your deposit so think carefully before you commit yourself.

I've been waiting since early Sept and having intially been advised of a mid-Dec delivery was eventually told to expect Feb-March.

In my last email exchange my dealer offered a full refund of the £300 deposit if I was unhappy...

Given the demand for vehicles I would think a last minute cancellation could be negotiated. Maybe focus on a minimum deposit to be on the safe side?

A few years ago i ordered a Kia and put a deposit on it. I then found out later that a brand new Kia model was coming out,so i told the dealer that obviously i wanted the new model.

He said he could not do the same deal on the new model, discount etc,so he gave me my deposit back.

I guess it all depends on how good or bad the dealer is.
