Does the Octavia Combi 4x4 have...

Featured Replies

I was very very pleased with my Octavia TDI Scout, & even more pleased with my 170bhp Superb TDI 4X4; will I however, be satisfied with an Octavia TDI Combi 4x4?

I've yet to locate a 2.0L demonstrator, and am not sure if the headlights are HiDs on the S.E?  Please can someone tell me?

Has anyone actually purchased a Combi in Topaz Brown? I've seen a number of photos, all in poor lighting & indoors...has anyone posted an outdoor photo?  I would have to see one outdoors to really consider parting with money.

There are very few S.E 4X4s around with sat-nav either...or 16" wheels! I suppose this means that I may have to consider the up market release in early 2014....Which is all more cost...and probably means larger wheels - I really cannot understand the desire for the damn things...My only dislike of the Superb....!

My wife traded her Mk1 Fabia Vrs for a Fabia Monte C this year and that came on ridiculous wheels...(Very pretty - But can they Fight?? springs to mind!!! (Have you guessed the film yet..?))

Kind regards

W.

Couldn't comment on how an O3 4x4 compares with your Scout or Superb because I have not driven them, but the O3 4x4 is great. I do find it a bit noisy at high speeds depending on road surface, but hope this would improve when I change to all weather tyres (2dB less according to figures on some websites which should be noticeable)

Current O3 4x4s are SE trim only, so the lights halogen reflectors are fitted as standard.

Can't help with photos I am afraid, as mine is Steel Grey.

Standard wheels for 4x4s are 16" so hopefully not difficult to find.

Very pretty - But can they Fight?? Wouldn't want to give away my age by admitting to knowing the film

I believe also, any of the 4x4s with larger than 16" wheels automatically don't have the rough road package, as you can only have that with the 16s.

PekoSI posted a bunch of good pictures here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/297513-my-octy-elegance-short-review-with-plenty-of-pics/

I'm waiting for my brown Combi as well, a month to go.

Yes your correct, for once the manufacturer has realised rough road and wide low profile tyres, are not good bed fellows

Shame they are still insisting on fitting Audi TT wheels to the Yeti mind, as they did with the Scout :S

My O3 Combi SE 4x4 came with 16 inch wheels as standard and halogen headlights( oh how I miss the xenons that I had on my Yetis)

It's now on 16 inch all season tyres which run quieter than the Contis it came from the factory with.

May I ask which all season tyres you fitted? My 4x4 came with Michelin Energy Saver which I find quite noisy at speed.

Kleber Quadraxers. They are surprisingly quiet and seem to handle well in the wet. Cant comment on snow not had any yet.

Are Qudraxers "real" all season tyres do they have the mountain snowflake symbol as say The Vredestein Quatracs do?

Edited by loskie

Yes the Quadraxer is a proper all season tyre with the full winter rating; mountain and snowflake. Part of the Michelin group.

The Quadraxers have the 3 peaked mountain with snow flake symbol denoting that they are suitable for use in severe snow conditions. That's according to Kleber website.
