Traffic sign recognition

Featured Replies

Color Maxi-Dot, by the way, is not required. You can see in the manual examples of it working on the regular black&white version.

Yes but in the UK colour maxidot is standard with Columbus. With Bolero you get restricted functionality error messages, not tried with Amundsen.

Andyvee it also comes up with this message on the Columbus.

If in doubt assume it's 30 !!

Too many 20 zones about now for that to work.

OK - so I think there is some extra coding/adaptation needed. It appears that the Traffic Sign Recognition functions perfectly well, but it isn't using the data from the speed signs embedded in the map on the Columbus. At a wild guess, there is some extra coding needed on the Columbus so it knows that Traffic Sign Recognition is installed.

Anyone come across a Golf VII with Traffic Sign Recognition and a Discover Nav Pro in it? Be interested to see what the coding is on Module 5F, especially Byte 24

Hi Andy Still getting the "Traffic sign recognition: restricted" message flagging up even on main roads for no apparent reason.

Perhaps like you suggest needs some extra coding.

One other thing worth mentioning is that you completely lose the speed limit data from the mapping, ie you have to pass a sign for it to show anything. Perhaps this is how it is supposed to work? but I feel that you are missing out, might be a case of " you can't have your cake and eat it"

Look forward for any solutions you come up with.

Nope, it is supposed to merge the data from the camera with the map data. Looks like there is a final piece to this missing.

I did the activation of the Road sign recognition, but does not appear any sign ...
The MFD always displays this message.

Anyone have any tips ??

Is traffic sign recognition available on the Golf 7 in your region from the factory? If not, I don't think you will get it to work as the data isn't loaded to the camera.
