Some interesting features on the new Superb for those who are more interested in comfort than bhp!!

See http://www.novinky.cz/01/25/58.html (in Czech).

The year 2004 model - going into production from 4 August - will have the possibility of receiving a TV signal, simple satnav system, solar batteries to operate the sun roof and to help power the AC. The solar battery should enable the AC to work and keep cool a parked car in direct sunlight and in the winter to limit icing up of the windows.

Are these item's going to be standard or optional -- if standard that's some fantastic spec -- it's all optional with Audi - even on the A8!

I'd be suprised if a practical size solar cell array could supply enough power to run the AC (Maybe if it covered the whole roof, it could)!

The A8 uses a solar panel sunroof - standard size -- it doesn't run the AC - mearly some of the fans to keep air circulating,it relies on the residual cooling within the system,so does have a time limit to be effective -- but even with just airflow does keep temp's well down.
