turbo boost fault

Featured Replies

Before Xmas the turbo blew on my fabia vrs 1.9 tdi

I have now fitted new turbo cleaned everything out reset a few fault codes etc

But now when driving the turbo only kicks in at about 2k

And seems a bit sluggish when setting off

Help please lol

try unplugging your MAF sensor and take it for a drive, if it feels any better your maf sensor could be knackerd happened to me when I fitted a new turbo

I thought that but not tried yet

The maf did have a bit of oil on it which I cleaned off best I could

I recently had a fault with my air filter trying to eat itself on a hybrid. Chucked a new one in and goes like never before! Getting a jabba one to stop this happening again though in the future.

This could be actuator set up or a vacuum problem on the n75 also

that's what happened to me and that's why my maf sensor went as well I think lol would definately try maf sensor if it's had oil on it then mate they're very delicate Posted Image

Vacuum pipes are Ok

I hope it's not the actuator that was another thought I had

How did you set up the actuator and check the duty cycle on the vacuum?

That should have been done at the turbo recon place but will check

Does the eml come on with a faulty maf?

no you won't get any eml with a faulty maf.  A lot of people get caught out by the maf trick though.  If the actuator isn't opening fully, whether it's through a faulty actuator or N75 valve you don't get the air flow through the filter and maf anyway.  That'll give you a false reading on the maf even on a brand new one.  That's why you need to check the map duty cycle first to see if the actuator is allowing the vanes to move fully.

Pretty sure it's the maf it was caked in oil

Disconnected it and it does now boost lower down the Rev range
