How to stop vRS windows closing automatically?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have tried searching for this topic- maybe someone could help me?

We recently got a dog, and when I left it in the boot of our vRS estate the other day when we went shopping, I opened the drivers' door window a little, so it could have some air. When we returned about 15 minutes later, the window was closed. I tried it a second time when we then moved on to another shop, and the same thing happened again.

Now, it's maybe not a problem right now, as it's winter, but if this was to happen in summer, our dog would likely be roasted alive in the car. Can someone explain how to disable this function, so that the windows will not close automatically, please?

Many thanks in advance!

Michael

Does your car have auto wipers?

Do you have maxi dot?

If you have auto close and auto wipers. Make sure you'r wiper stalk is at the "OFF" position, as when it is left in the "Intermittent" position the windows will close if there is any sign of rain which there is plenty of that around just now.

Mine close if it rains regardless of the position of the wiper stalk.

Yes, I have auto wipers and maxi dot display. I'll try what you have suggested, that is, put the wipers in the off position to see what happens. Thanks!

You may be able to turn off rain closing through maxidot, otherwise you will need VCDS to do it. Assuming that the wiper stalk doesn't work.

Mine also closes regardless of switch position too.

If u have maxidot, go the convenience menu and turn off the option.
