Nokian & Goodride winter tyres & other options

Featured Replies

I have fitted 225/45-17 Nokian WR D3 winter tyres to replace the usual Conti 2 225/40-18 summer tyres.  Better traction on cold wet roads, slightly better ride and a little quieter.

Photos attached.

The car isn't damaged - just the reflection in the paintwork of the front of my house and the gravel drive.

Didn't realise why you had D3s on the Ocatvai and A3s on the MX-5, until I checked - MyTyres do not appear to list the D3 in a size to suit the MX-5, at least, not as part of any tyres+steel-wheels deal. This is quite apart from the fact that the A3 is more suited to a sports car anyway. The Continental TS850s in the size for an MX-5 cost £184 with steel wheels, compared with £135 for the Nokian A3s with steel wheels. I like what I read about the Nokian A3s here:

Bought some Nexens for mine a month ago, £73 a corner from Oponeo. Seemed to be a bargain!

First time i've used winter tyres and must admit they do seem to have made a difference even though we haven't had any snow yet![/quote Mine are full size 235/45 18s as Smaller wheels will wull not fut iver my calipers .hence the price]

Mine are 225/40/18 so not much smaller.

Love the look of your R36 by the way.
