i've just gone for lassa impetus sport 225/45/r16 83w for the fabia -made by bridgestone in turkey !!

less then 80 quid a corner also :)

I've got Michelin Pilot primacys not bad grip but they do seem very noisey

I ditched my Pilot Primacys for Toyo T1-Rs and they are a lot quieter.

I have Falken ST115s...bestset of tyres I've ever owned...though they're a LITTLE noisy..

Toyo T1-R's. I have 4 on my Mk1 vRS. The stock Conti SP2's lasted 13K on the front before replacing, The T1-R's have done 14K and still have loads of tread left, I also found the Toyo's give a much better 'feel' although that is subjective.

No competition, Goodyear Eagle GSD3's!

Yokohamas are the Daddy.

i like rainsports, good allrounder and stunning wet grip

another vote for Goodyear Eagle GSD3's!

These tyres have always appealed to me too but I stopped short of buying them simply because I have read that once they have worn a little - say 10/12K they become even noisier than most other brands. Did you find this?

No, i've done around 20k on my set and they're still really quiet. That includes a trackday so it's fairly worn them by now. I'm also surprised how much mileage they have managed, looks like there's another 10 of 15k in them.

I've just bought another Audi 100 with different tyres and it's incredible how much noisier than the yokos.

No competition, Goodyear Eagle GSD3's!
