Can anyone tell me what the 'vent' next to the drivers reading light in the roof is for?

Don't really know but I assume it's part of the Climate Control system i.e. it's one of the temperature sensors.

I thought it was the microphone housing for the (optional) handsfree kit. Or possibly the sensor for the Ultrasonic alarm system. Or both. Or neither. You choose.

it is and if you have a nokia handsfree car kit and take the mic pcb out of the pastic it's held in it clips neatly into the skoda clip
