I might get the same response. :D Silly of him to take a piccie of it - Would have been better off pointing the camera down the back end of the engine with a note saying, "Here's the turbo!"

It's definitly an SDI - the oil filler cap's on the left on the TDI! I hope he changes his ad soon, people are bidding already! WE MUST HELP THEM!

its an SDI, i just chose some random details and got an insurance quote using the reg, swansea say its an sdi

silly fella!

Although whenever i refer to diesels i always say TDi automatically, could just be his mistake

Its not his only mistake either.

It is of course based on the superb Volkswagon Polo, so need to worry about mileage with this one.

Whats he trying to say about the polo?

And he says it has been serviced almost every month by Skoda, his 13 invoices show that. Its a 52 plate which is 3 years old. Thats a service every 3 months! and its only had a service every 12k.

I've emailed him a few questions as well, this guy's not going to know what's hit him!

Week from now someones going to find dumped white fabia at roadside!

To be fair, there may be nothing wrong with the car. The SDI's probably more capable of high mileage than it's turbocharged brothers - less torque = less stress on transmission and of course no turbo to go wrong.

The problem is, it's advertized as being somthing it's not and is therefore in breach of ebay rules and, I believe, the law! Just hope that all those eager bidders have spotted the mistake (be it deliberate or otherwise).

its been painted white!

its been painted white!

I didn,t spot the error so i doubt the bidders will. 50+ k a year is mega mileage.

Nah guys/gals its a genuine mistake is is soo easy to press the T instead of the S when syping ;-)

But writing the word 'turbo' is a little more difficult

His responce:

HI James, You may be right, Both me and a mechanic friend assumed this was a Turbo because of the performance, But so many people have corrected me I must be wrong...Sorry for the confusion....Jay

Numpty

Well he's plastered it over the page in big red & underlined letters now ;)

It's not a bad price all-things-considered though :D

Early days yet, I wouldn't be surprised to see it fetch over

Yep, I got an email back too.

Still - a 52 reg SDI is still worth some good money, even with 160k on the clock. I do smell a taxi somewhat though. ;)

Got a reply:

"I guess your right,,,No Turbo,,,Explained! Sorry for the confusion..."

I dont think he knew his car had no turbo. I smell a rat !!!

Seemed like a genuine mistake, although I hope he didn't waste his money insuring it as a TDI ;) Looks in excellent nick considering the mileage its covered too - obviously a well looked after car ..... :D:thumbup:

Chris

If I was in the market for a cheap SDI, I'd consider it. Would want to have a good poke around first though - certainly wouldn't bid without even seeing the car in the flesh.

I spy a possible doner vehicle for the W8 conversion - posted elsewhere on this forum...
