Featured Replies

Guys I'v got my penny pincher head on after crinmo and am feeling sorry for my octy sat outside on its own getting no attention apart from cleaning, Iv just kitted it out with now bulbs but wanna know if there is any little bits and bobs I could do without having to order stuff? I saw Bowders post on removing the exterior door moulds from his silver octy vrs (looks sweet mate) and I'm gonna do it! But any other ideas guys? Thinking caps on!!!!

Remove back seats for better power to weight ratio. :)

family car - modifcations?  I see an issue here?!

Therefore I probably think there is no such thing as a free mod - as in something to improve performance in some aspect.  The vent mod to the front right wheel arch liner could be a possible.  Seen that done.

Mine is the family motor.  :bandit:

Yes, but you've actually spent loads of money :D  Doing free stuff to a family car generally means weight shedding on a large scale, and that's not feasible in a family wagon / daily driver. :D

Can opened !!!

After reading the 5 pages if people getting very excited about a solenoid and some pipe work I'll still be deleting the SAI,N249 and the N112.

Resistors are here just waiting on the blanking plate oh and a day off.

Agreed,

5 pages to get to a point where it first started .................

No real live driving to prove keeping it is better than deleting it certainly in lightly modded cars with aftermarket DV 90% of folks deleting are seeing improvements or smoother running.

From personal experience n249 delete improved smoothness on mine. Got to get the sai plate now though as running like sh1t3 this morning when it was cold.

For totally free "upgrades" you may find a couple like the deletes etc if you include low cost mods then you can make some sensible changes.

Aero wipers £8-10 on ebay for a full set combine them with a screen treatment like GTechnic G1 (use it all round don't touch G3 too hard to buff out) and your vision will be dramatically improved (in the rain obviously)

Remove mudguards, they cause lots of drag :D. But don't remove the ones in front of the wheel!

Wheel arch mod is a good one but it all depends what vent you fit. You need to check the airflow area between the different vents available. I was going to use an aluminium one for strength etc but when I looked into it more I chose the biggest plastic one I could find and sprayed it all black when finished. At this point I had already done theFree mod of drilling lots of holes and a cheap £5 vent from b&q has a LOT more airflow.

If you do the wheel arch mod then also look at the inlet vent for the I/C as well as it has a lot of excess material that just gets in the way of flow.

Also carefully give your I/C a clean as a lot of cr4p builds up in the fins.

I will post some more later.
