VRS TFSI or TSI engine how do you know?

Featured Replies

I have a May reg 2010 VRS. The cover has TSI on the top but my VCDS scans and chassis type Chassis Type: 1Z (1K0) say that it is a TFSI?

Is there a difference? Anyway of knowing? My engine bay looks like this one.

That's a chain driven TSI engine. The airbox is built in to the engine cover on a TFSI (it also has FSI turbo moulded in to it).
