SEAT Leon Cupra pics, specs and pricing released

Hey Eddie, hows Yarmouth treating you mate?.

Yes I did get a good price on the ED30 when I bought it and also a decent price when I sold it (Think I sold at right time, was only up for sale a few days and 1st viewer bought it), he drove from London down to St Ives (Cornwall) to buy it (I Moved down here in August 2012).

Yes I have ordered an Octavia VRS TDI DSG Combi.

Decided to lease for 2 years and then decide what I want in 2 years time, If I still like the car I will make the supplying dealer an offer

I expect by then you will be doing lots of retro-fits on Octavia 3's

Am I right in thinking your in an Octavia VRS?

***Edit*** Just noticed your sig!, yes you are :drunk:

Edition 30's are sought after cars, just like the 25th Anni Mk4 was.

Huge tuning potential too due to being fitted with the same KO4 powered TFSi motor from the S3, simple remap ups power to 300-odd horses.

Id love one but they are getting on a bit now and still fetch strong money as a well looked after honest example.

Well £27,200 is the best price I have on a 5 door 280 with metallic, sound upgrade and a few other options to match my VRS spec.

There finance is 4.9% so couple thatvwith a £1500 higher price and assuming GFVs are proportionally similar, that's going to lead to a higher PCP.

16 week lead time though (as opposed to the 24 it seems my Vrs is going to take).....

incase it's of any use you can get an S3 for in the £28k easily and residuals on PCP are strong so surprising monthly prices out there if you shop around

Very nice!

+ you get full LED lights which are well ahead of xenon's on the performance front. Bit like comparing halogens to xenon's.

Audi probably charge about 2k for those lights and Seat seem to be giving them away.

That's interesting, may take a peak tomorrow, thanks.

I'm always intrigued And confused by comments about xenon or led lights. Other than my mk 1 fiesta which I learnt to drive in, I've never felt a car had poor head lights and slowed me down. Am I reckless or do some people drive  unfamiliar bumpy and bendy roads a great deal? Even then, I'm not sure brighter helps.  Perhaps I'll have a revelation when the Octy Vrs arrives.

No worries, carwow usually offer about £1-1.5k discount so decent start. Kings lynn Audi are offering solid deals of around 8% off so maybe email them.

Not sure about that. Over on the Seat forums the perception seems to suggest the LED's are a bit whiter than xenons but performance is no better, e.g. no greater illumination or greater beam distance.

The Audi ones are about £800 over the price of xenons, which are standard on an S3. Personally I wouldn't pay extra for the LEDs over xenons on an A3/S3, but on the Leon's there is no xenon option.

The best bit about LED lights though is the ability to have adaptable light, so not just turing for bends or auto Hi Beam but fully adjustable. ie leave your full beam on and the car in front isn't blinded but the road edges etc. are lit up fully.

The LED systems are the way forward, not so much as the light output (this will always be limited because of the need to not blind/dazzle) but the ability to light up whats needed when its needed, rather than relying on one bulb.

I personally think the light output on the New Cayenne (full LED models) is far superior to the Octavia mk3 Xenons. Not tried the Leons yet but i'm guessing it will be quite a bit better than the Xenons.

My Volvo V50 headlights are dangerously poor on dipped. Have been since new, dealer raised as  high as possible and only marginally better. Notoriously poor on volvoforums

+1. Seat lights are purer shade of white, and are easier on the eye - especially when travelling across Europe at night. However, not significantly better than xenon.

I think the new Leon looks cool I miss my mk 2 cupra r esp as my vrs hasn't turned up

The SEATs and Skodas lack the adaptive suspension available on the Golfs and Audis?

Seats offer that suspension

The SEATs and Skodas lack the adaptive suspension available on the Golfs and Audis?

According to Seat the dynamic pack comprising progressive steering and adaptive suspension (DCC) will be available to order from beginning of February but no prices yet. Unsure if it'll only be available on multi-link rear suspension cars (150hp plus).
