I purchased and fitted some Valeo wiper blades, I'm just having a slight problem with the driver's side blade, it clears the screen fine but on the return seems to smear.

 

I've tried cleaning the blades and also the screen, but it still happens, any suggestions ?

Are they aero or normal styled blades? 

 

Either should be flipable, standard ones will require the connecting mechanisim removed, and flipped the other way, and something similar for the aero style ones. 

 

They could be poor blades, I know i returned a set of Valeo ones to Wiperblades.co.uk after cleaning the blades and then the windscreen with extra fine wire wool and neat vinegar.

They were the 'Silencio' blades bought from Eurocarparts

How have you cleaned them? I find a bit of screenwash on a piece of kitchen towel does the best job.

 

If they're juddering, they may need flipping over. Otherwise, maybe return them if you think it's a problem with the blades themselves.
