front mount hard pipework...

Featured Replies

It's just generic pipe work you'll have to cut most of it to size and you'll need more silicone bends than that and a MAP pipe. Also doesn't state how long the pipes actually are

Which intercooler is it going onto?

It really depends on what FMIC you have got  and pipework to determine if the advertised is any good.

Personally as the hard pipes do not have any lip on them the chances of boost pressure forcing the silicon joiners off is high.

Without knowing what FMIC you have of any pics, it is  too hard to tell what you need buddy

As above ^^ with everyone else but also if going custom and different route, none of those pipes have 19mm nipple for dv or the 6mm nipple for the n75

3 inch pipe work way to be need 2.5

I ordered them just after I posted this thread.... And my mate said the same thing about no lips on the end of pipes..

But what he said he could do for me is, he works for custom exhaust place and said he would put a few little nobbles of tig weld on each pipe so they can't blow off... I didn't know an  because I didn't get a response I ordered it ;-(

He also said he would make a map sensor adaptor fitting for me in work.. So that's the map sensor sorted.........

What do I do? :-(

we all have jobs dude ..........

And answered same day as it was. we try to answer as quick as we can....

If you have mates that can sort you out anything is possible if you have the right tools.

i am all for a cheap budget and it always feels great when a build can be done economically , but not at the sacrifice of reliable , decent quality and consistent performance.

i am not sure you are getting the balance right here buddy, just my 2 cents  mate.

But folks who know me know I am dam anal about the way things look and fit and perform.

Snap.. But have nice time off with baby n stuff. Wasn't a dig about no response.... Well there was but not before I went out and blindly ordered it :-/

Yeah to big won't work 3 inch tubes takes a lot to fill its a big no no

Put back up for sale

If you listen you may save your self a ££ in the long run !!

Even my car has 2.5in pipe work which goes out to 3in at the intercooler!

There isn't enough room around the battery and behind the front bumper without LOTS of cutting and jiggers pokery! ;-(

Like others have said I'm all for a cheap solution, but sometimes too cheap ends up being expensive! ;-)

I'm going to listen to the advice and send the **** back I think... it still hasn't come yet lol..

I have a welly cooler that I'm waiting to fit, where is the best place to get the pipe work from?

If you look at other peoples projects you can see the pipes and the amount of silicone bends that you need. The main thing is to have the least amount of pipe possible... Is yours twin pass or single exit either side?

If you don't know someone who can weld you can get a forge map pipe from awsomegti

You want to try and not have many joins the more hard pipe the better.

IM ordering a welly cooler and piping from a diagram from an audi A3. CN can you shed some light will and Audi A3 piping diagram work with a octy? Intake is the same position as an AUQ

audi a3 and leon cupra and audi tt have AUQ engines so can't see why not.

are you trying to do it so you get an inlet manifold with throttle body on the right and the hard boost pipe from the top that goes next to the cam belt as that's how i'm gonna do it eventually as it looks like the minimum amount of pipes

I sent that back today guys following your advise..

But my intercooler came today and its better than I thought..

It's a toyosport cooler that came off a golf, and the seller was even kind enough to include a pipe with map sensor adaptor (and a map sensor actually lol), plus a few extra pipes, connectors and the like..

I will post a few pics later when I get home for anyone interested

Aswel as the pipe work that came  off the golf I ment....

ha, love that! suppose it wasn't much good to him anymore

I always use autosiliconhoses for all my alloy and silicon, they have just about everything you need in there to make up any custom pipework and pretty cheap- measure twice, cut once ;)
