My little mk1 auq vrs

Featured Replies

So people a very good friend of mine has had the car for years always been warmed cooled serviced and loved but towards the end of last year he thought it was on its last legs and bought a saab. I asked what are you doing with this little beauty. To which he replied I'm scrapping it, well I have been after this car for years so bought it off him for 180 pound. Nursed it home and put it in the garage, got to work the next day found a broken front spring. Fortunately for me there was a set of h&r springs going on flea bay for 90 pound never fitted so bought them and fitted. Next was a sticky rear left calliper which I had my cousin wind back and seems to be doing well (new pads fitted too), then had the rear drivers door lock to contend with after a lot of blood sweat tears and hammering had it off and new one fitted. Put through mot passed no problems as per usual so had the last couple of months driving around and this car is as good if not better than I thought it could ever be. Still have a few more jobs to do on it like sai pump if that's correct a service and going to replace the calliper with a new one but other than that its just awesome.post-108911-0-43092200-1389736955_thumb.jpg

Thank you will look into getting this done :)

Cambelt and water pump been done lately?

  • Author

Cambelt done a couple of years ago so on the list for next year not to sure about water pump will have to ask my friend although his mechanic is very good and usually does most things ????

That is a true bargain.  I'd have happily paid 4 times that!  I have a spare SAI unit if you find you need one, :)

180 quid!  What a deal.  Not much mate bar making sure everythings OK.  Service regularly and keep on top of any jobs.

Thank you for your replies people she was a little bargain :) black is defiantly the fast colour. Service is on the top of the list as soon as the weather gets a little better, what spark plugs are generally used by people usually buy ngk but the price comparison to the Bosch is a huge difference. Was also going to ask about the oil which is best for it any advice my friend used to just goto skoda and buy from them shall I just keep with what it's used too ?

Total bargain and defo the best colour buddy
