ASC light and lost power.

Featured Replies

Hi, I'v done a search but couldn't really find what I'm looking for.

I got 2 punctures yesterday so while the wheels were off I cleaned up my

Rear callipers as they were a bit sticky. The only other wheels I had were my

Spare 17" alloys so I stuck 2 on the rear until I can get new tyres.

My problem is I have 2 17" alloys with 215 45 17 on the rear and my standard

Fabia vrs alloys on the front

Now under, even light acceleration my ESC kicks in and cuts power, the wheels are definatley not losing traction but the car must think they are.

Are there speed sensors on the rear wheels? And if so is the difference in rolling

Radius that is causing the ESC to come in or have I done something while cleaning

My callipers?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thats definitely your problem mate.

If you have vcds you can actually look at the speeds of each wheel. Abs will be kicking in because of the different speeds. I had the same problem last week but mine was because my bearing had slipped out and the car thought my wheel had locked up as there wwsnt a speed detected in one corner.

Thanks very much,

I'll stop worrying I had made a mess of something then. New tyres are ordered, so should be fitted on Thursday so I'll just switch off the ESC and take it easy until then.

Thanks again.
