Fabia vRS comes third, good review

Featured Replies

Seems like a fair enough review - being realistic about what it is, I like that :)

Made me laugh -

'In the real world, the Ibiza has difficulty keeping up, let alone getting past.'

Makes a nice change to read a good objective review.

Fords always do well in Autoexpress tests. I think they are a little biased. But I can't remember when Ford produced a true hot hatch. The last was probably the Escort Cosworth, they chickened out of doing a Focus Cosworth.

Thing is, my mates 1.8T FR could quite easily get past me even when it was standard, let alone when it was chipped...

I dont personally think it would have any trouble keeping up to be honest, they somewhat underestimate it in gear IMHO.

Nevertheless, I agree that it lacks soul, personally I still think the Fabia vRS is a much nicer car overall than the FR.

Focus RS was/is a pretty competent hot hatch ;)

Yeah, but competent isn't good enough when you look at Ford's back catalogue. All out good fast for no good reason should be enough excuse that Ford need for at least one model. They chickened out of doing the road going Fiesta Rallye too, which looked really good.

And they are Fords.

the skoda would "obliterated" the FR seems a bit unrealistic

Nice write up

Pictured in the best colour too
