The truly awful "News of the World" had one saving grace last Sunday-its motoring page announced the arrival of the new Octy vRS. Apparently its powered by the same 197bhp lump found in the VW Golf GTi. Hooray! I think we all expected that though, yes?

Or were some of you hoping for a turboderv, a la seat Ibiza Cupra, 160bhp?

I'm wondering if they'll produce an estate version sooner rather than later-my vRS is the "station wagon" and I think its the Bee's Knees!

the jury is out on the front bumper though...

Personally I was more intrigued by the Astra convertible ;-)
