Super Unleaded for fabia 1.2 tsi 105bhp?

Featured Replies

I noticed on my fuel cap today that it said super unleaded fuel only (I drive a fabia monte carlo, 1.2 tsi , 105bhp).

Just wondering what anyone else with this car fuels it with (Regular unleaded etc?)

Thanks,

Monte

I use normal unleaded in mine, and I can't remember seeing that on my fuel cap to be honest.

You've got me wondering now I will have to look :wonder:

95ron for all but the vrs i thought

haha a little closer than that

I will take a look when I get chance.

Does it not say 'Super' as in 95 ron.     'Super Plus' on the vRS,  98 ron/95 min,   and not suitable for us in Europe,  'Premium'  92 ron.

A Translation thing,

Where we cal 'Super Unleaded' some thing with a higher Octane than 95 which all petrol cars must me able to run on when EU type approved.

Just checked , it says, 'super unleaded only - 95 ron minimum.

What is the ron of regular fuel at shell then?

95 ron. Regular UK Fuel,

Tesco Momentum 99, minimum, 99 ron, Shell V Power Nitro 99 ron.

Sainsbury Super Unleaded 97 ron,

(Esso or BP Super Unleaded i never know,  they are probably too expensive  but 98 ron i think)

?

On the Fuel Filler flap, does it have the word 'Unleaded', behind 'Super',  'so Super Unleaded'

Anyway your car runs on 95 ron, use UK Super Unleaded if you want ,  97, 98, 99, even when abroad 100 ron

you do not need to.

It is not the Manufacturers recommended fuel for a 1.2 tsi.

It doesn't make a difference what ron you use in the UK, you'll see no benefits on the 1.2 TSI.

I know some might say different but speaking from experience, just put in what's nearest to you.

It says 'super unleaded'. So I can use regular shell unleaded no problem? Does anyone know what ron it is?

You can use regular unleaded from any petrol staion, not just Shell.

95 ron.

All 'Regular' petrol/fuel in the UK is minmum 95 ron, and all EU Type approved petrols must be capable of running on 95 ron.

The vrs is 98 ron/95 minimum and its says 'Super Plus', on the Filler flap.

Sorry to revive an ancient thread but I've noticed a slight difference between 97 and 95 in terms of performance and MPG, only marginal but slightly noticeable - There is also an advisory slip in my owners manual that says to only use 97.

An advisory slip from whom?

Maybe someone had the car remapped and that is why there is this advice.    It certainly will do no harm and maybe good running higher octane than 95 ron Unleaded.

The 1.2 TSI is not a high performance engine and should run fine on ordinary 95. However I always use 99 tesco or shell as i find I get better MPG with it and this kind of evens out the extra cost of buying super. The extra additives in it may be beneficial as well.

Can't find the damned thing now. It was from skoda and was an 'amendment' to the handbook. I'll have a look see if I can find anything out online about it...

Look in the Fuel Flap.

& the cars that say Super / 98 (95) if in the UK are going to get 97 ron minimum Super Unleaded if thats what you go buy unless you get 99 ron minimum petrol.

The Mk2 Fabia Owners Manual 2010 had the fuel information in pages 162 / 163 /164

This was not actually correct information for 1.4 TSI Twinchargers.

And Skoda UK Customer Services said they would correct this.  I have never seen a corrected to Skoda Owners Manual or Website.

VW Website.
