Subwoofer for 2012 VRS hatch

Featured Replies

Had a quick browse but couldn't find any threads where a subwoofer has been added to one of the boot side compartments.

Has anyone doine this and if so which sub diid you use and how easy is it to wire to a columbus?

Looking to add some low frequency to supplement the standard system.

If I bought a subwoofer, what can I expect an ICE specialist to charge to install?

Thanks

This is worth a look, it's a MK1 estate but it gives you a good idea of the ammount of work that goes into building a custom box.

I beleive you can tap into the speakers from the HU and all cable are supplied, though I will probably get an ICE chap to do it for me.

Now just have to go and earn some bonus to pay for it!

Well just ordered one from amazon for £170, which is definitely worth a punt at that price.

I have also found someone to wire it up for around £60 with all the wires hidden.

Auto acoustics used to make stealthbox/stealthshelf but not sure if they are around anymore... Were very good for the price

Yes you can really notice the bottom end, very subtle, not overwhelming. Got to be one of the best mods so far, apart from the RARB
