Alex's mk1 Fabia

Featured Replies

Some of you may know I previously owned a fabia 1.4mpi and had started a project thread for it until it got written off, I now have a new car which is a fabia comfort 1.9tdi pd100 in black with 95,000, full service history mint condition and picked it up for £2100 :)

Here is a link to my previous thread.. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/280169-alexs-14-mpi-fabia/

I have started to do a couple things to the new fabia and have many plans for it as follows:

- coilovers

- fit alloys

- pd130 turbo

- re map

- wrap grill surround in gloss black

- get my old GT front skirt sprayed black and fitted

- front splitter

- wind deflectors

-  pressed plates

- wheel spacers

- try and find leather interior

Here are some pictures of when I first got it completely standard

When I got home I started to do a couple things which included fitting all my led's, putting my old rear tinted lights, mini ariel, wiring up all my stereo equipment, fitting my carbon wrapped vents and new chrome gear knob..

I got some alloys for cheap before I got the car but they have 225/45/17s on which are the wrong size so need to buy some tyres and new badges then get them fitted which should be within the next week or 2..

Thanks for reading and feel free to leave any ideas for future mods and I will update when the coilovers and wheels are on!

Cheers, Alex.

Hopefully get some new style skoda badges for the wheels soon and better pictures.

Its looking good already, I particularly like the wheels, very nice. where did you get the chrome look fan, hot cold etc switches. My elegance has the chrome finishes but the selectors were not included. The door handles are chrome too, they look good on mine.

good luck with the rest of your project

All the best

Graham

Looking good, some interesting mods :)

Haven't updated in a while but things are moving slowly.

In the last few weeks Ive been doing a few things and started by re polishing my alloys as all the lacquer had peeled so sanded them down to bare metal then used a polishing kit off the internet that works with a drill and this is the results..

before:

during:

IMG_1288.jpg

and the finished result (decided not to re lacquer as it will only happen again so will seal them regularly)

IMG_1352.jpg

My wrapping skills are not the best and my grill had a few bubbles so decided to just paint it black and it turned out not too bad.

IMG_1391.jpg

Also tinted my fogs yellow, got some genuine skoda new style badges for the wheels and gave it a polish and wax. Hoping to get my bumper sprayed soon aswell :)

and one queuing for ultimate dubs showing the new grill..

That looks fantastic mate. Surprised I've not found your thread til now.

I may be biased but the wheels look brilliant :)

Sport bumper looks good, hope mine looks as good when I finish it after my laquering ****-up :(

Noticed your gear stick insert laquer has all come off. Same happened to mine so I got a replacement which is an updated version Part Number 6Y0798001 ~£6.50

Cheers guys appreciate it! Really happy with how it looks now :)

It's an aftermarket gear knob that's just chrome Lee :giggle: cheers for that anyway! Not sure if I like it much tbh but is still better than the standard non vrs one :)

Absolutely love the front bumper. Nice work.

Bad news..

Was on the way to early edition to meet the briskoda lot and unfortunately crashed :(

I was looking at someone who was broken down which distracted me and didn't see the person infront brake for the ques ahead in time and smashed right into the back.

Was only going around 20-25mph but still did quite a bit of damage, probably an insurance write off but I will be buying the car back and hopefully repairing it if I can get old of new parts!

bad news man :( the car looked so good!

I'm sure you'll have it back in shape in no time :)

Cheers mate really miss it but hopefully hear back form insurance soon and get it back so I can start work!

Love that sport bumper I want that on mine!! Hope you get it looking like this again

No news from the insurance company yet?

Cheers and so do I!

Yeah it came back as a Cat C and I'm still complementing on repairing it, got a bonnet and panel spare in the garage if I do repair as they were local and the same colour so brought them just incase.

Going to get a couple quotes for the chassis leg and I can put all the other stuff back on myself.. not too worried about it obviously not being worth much as a cat C as it will probably stay in the family if I do repair and pass it on to my brother. I brought the car back for £180, originally paid £2100 for it at the start of the year and the insurance paid out £2000 minus excess and the £180 so even if it does cost £300-400 to repair will most probably be worth it as I can get the other bits for no more than £300

So after a couple months of having it sat in my drive getting all the broken parts off and collecting various parts off briskoda members and seeing if it's worth repairing I finally got it collected a few days ago to get the chassis leg repaired. It is now repaired and he has put all my parts on, just need to get the coolant fixed, VIC checked and MOT'd then it's ready to go back on the road :)

Will be putting my GT front skirt on and my plates and most probably get some new headlights or refurbing the ones on it :)

Here are some pics of the progress ..

So it's all done, just a couple bits to sort.. spray the front grill gloss black, put the fogs in, sort the grills in the GT bumper out (probably get some mesh and tiger seal) and a new exhaust to fill the rear vrs bumper :)
